Hot Honey Crispy Chicken Tenders with Whipped Feta

Golden, ultra-crispy chicken tenders dripping with sweet-heat hot honey, served with a cool, fluffy whipped feta dip. The contrast — crunchy, sticky, spicy chicken against tangy, creamy feta — is exactly why this combo went viral. Restaurant-level snacking, made at home.

Ingredients

For the Tenders

  • 1½ lbs chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs + a splash of milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil, for frying

For the Hot Honey

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1–2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

For the Whipped Feta

  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 small clove garlic

Instructions

  1. Make the whipped feta first: blend the feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic until smooth and fluffy. Refrigerate until serving.
  2. Set up a dredging station: flour mixed with cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in one dish; beaten eggs with milk in another.
  3. Coat each tender in the flour mixture, dip in egg, then press back into the flour for a thick, craggy crust. Rest on a rack for 10 minutes so the coating sets.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the tenders in batches for 4–5 minutes, turning once, until deep golden and cooked through. Drain on a wire rack.
  5. Warm the honey, hot sauce, chili flakes, and vinegar in a small saucepan for 1–2 minutes — do not boil.
  6. Drizzle or toss the hot tenders with the hot honey. Serve immediately with the whipped feta for dipping, plus extra chili flakes and a lemon wedge.

Pro Tips

  • The double dredge plus cornstarch is the secret to a shatteringly crisp crust.
  • Resting the coated tenders before frying keeps the crust from falling off in the oil.
  • Adjust the hot honey to your heat level — more hot sauce for fire, more honey for sweet.
